Gamers from around the world know of this great man. This will mark the 14th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards where Respawn Entertainment Community Manager, Abbie Heppe, will host. Mark Cerny who is the lead architect for the PlayStation 4, will present Kutaragi his award.
The 14th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards will honor Ken Kutaragi — former CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment and the “Father of the PlayStation” — with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the world of gaming.
Kutagagi’s first contribution to gaming wasn’t for the original Sony PlayStation but the Super Nintendo Entertainment System SPC700 sound chip. As the lead engineer of the much beloved PlayStation, brought him much prestige for his valid vision and ushered a new generation of classics that are fondly remembered even 20 years since its release.
Gaming After Hours perspective:
This has been a long time coming and a proud day for not only Ken Kutaragi but for PlayStation fans alike. This is our culture, and through we may place our devotions to the products that we associate the most, none of this would be possible without a great visionary like Ken Kutaragi and the many others like him.
Thank you Mr. Kutaragi, and for everything Sony, and for more things ‘PlayStation’, keep it here with Gaming After Hours
