Sega has announced that Nintendo 3DS owners will be getting enhanced versions of beloved classic games in North America and Europe on November 28. It was only a matter of time before Sega decided to release 3D enhanced versions of their classic franchises. Sega will release 3D Space Harrier and 3D Super Hang-On at first, followed by 3D Sonic The Hedgehog. Below is a list of dates for some of the other titles you can expect to see in this fall.
Each game has been enhanced with stereoscopic 3D visuals and will cost $5.99/€4.99/£4.49 on the Nintendo eShop.
3D Space Harrier, 3D Super Hang-On – 11/28/2013
3D Sonic the Hedgehog, 3D Altered Beast – 12/5/2013
3D Ecco the Dolphin, 3D Galaxy Force II – 12/12/2013
3D Shinobi III, 3D Streets of Rage – 12/19/2013
Gaming After Hours perspective:
Currently, you could buy the Game Gear version of Sonic the Hedgehog ($4.99) on the eShop but it’s a safe bet that these new releases will be their 16-bit console versions rather than their 8-bit (handheld) counterparts. It wouldn’t be too surprising if Sega still released handheld versions of their respected franchises just to help improve their presence on the eShop. This is regardless of whether it’s received 3D enhancements.
