The director of the Bayonetta franchise, says that even though Platinum Games would like to release the first game on the Wii U. It ultimately is up to Nintendo. Platinum Games is currently developing Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U but no release date has been announced.
“As I’ve told u before, we want to release Bayo1 for WiiU, but that’s what Ninty decides. So ask Ninty.” – Hideki Kamiya
The executive director at Platinum Games, Atsushi Inaba, has explained that without Nintendo’s help, Bayonetta 2 would not exist.
“Nintendo.. [is] a key partner in getting the game made. We were looking for a partner to create Bayonetta 2 and Nintendo was a strong, cooperative partner that was willing to create and grow Bayonetta 2 together [with us]. As a result the platform became the Wii U.”
Can’t wait for Bayonetta 2.
