Sakurai Considered Bring Smash Bros To Handheld In The Past

If you haven’t heard, and why haven’t you, the next Smash Bros will be on the 3DS and Wii U. According to GamesTM, creator Masahiro Sakurai has considered making a portable Smash Bros game in the past. Though he “didn’t have the opportunity, it just never came up.”

“It’s not that I haven’t wanted to – I thought about it, I did. To be honest, we purely didn’t have the opportunity, it just never came up. And also, to speak freely, if you look at handheld device preceding anything before the GBA, I don’t think it would have the capabilities to fully realize Smash Bros.”
