According to reports, Smash players will be able to connect their Nintendo 3DS consoles as an additional controller for Super Smash Bros for Wii U. Given that you have a copy of the portable version of Super Smash Bros.

When connected, you’ll be able to exchange your custom fighters between the two system, bring up your custom moveset and presumingly players stats and scoring competitions where they will be able to use a ranking system for solo play that’s called the Global Smash Power. Since both versions have been developed in unison, this idea isn’t too far fetched.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is scheduled to be released in October 3 in Europe, Americas, Australia and is already released in Japan. Super Smash Bros for Wii U is scheduled has yet to be sometime at the end of the year.
