Destiny’s Collectors Edition Includes Two Expansions and Beta

[Update: The Sony Beta of Bungie will have access until Monday, July 28 but except for a two-day maintenance window — Destiny developer Bungie will take the beta offline from July 21-22 and will continue afterwards until July 28. The studio says that the Microsoft Beta will start on July 23.]

Today marks the infamous 7/7 Bungie Day and with it comes new information about the Halo developer’s newest massively multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny related information. This includes the beta release dates, expansions and amazing collector’s editions.

The beta for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 will launch on July 17 . Those with the Xbox One and Xbox 360 will have to wait for week before they’ll be to experience Bungie’s new world.

To get in on the beta you need to pre-order the game.

There are currently three Destiny collector’s editions, and alongside that two post-launch expansions.

The Destiny Ghost Edition ($149.99) and the Destiny Limited Edition ($99.99) both include:

Destiny Expansion Pass ($34:99):
This includes two post-launch expansions, which each include new story missions, cooperative activities and competitive multiplayer maps, and new weapons, armor and gear to earn. These can be bought individually at $19.99 when they launch.

  • Expansion I: The Dark Below – Set deep beneath the surface of the Moon, fans will discover an ancient tomb that has been unsealed, and a dark god who has risen an evil army in the depths of the Hellmouth, the home of the Hive enemy race.
  • Expansion II: House of Wolves – details will be revealed later

Sony fans will have access to exclusive PlayStation content for The Dark Below and House of Wolves that Activision confirmed will remain exclusive until at least Autumn 2015.

  • Ghost replica: featuring motion-activated lights and voice recordings from Peter Dinklage, voice of the Ghost character, the player’s personal companion in the game
  • Letter of Introduction: These worlds were once ours. If you accept your destiny, you will be asked to do the impossible.
  • Golden Age Relics,  which include a Photo, Patch, Sticker and two Chrome slides of the Traveler

Destiny launches proper on 9th September 2014.
